About Us

A cup with purpose

KofiCup was born from a simple belief: great coffee should do more than wake you up — it should bring people together. Founded in 2012 by Elena Vasquez, a former barista and green‑coffee buyer, our journey started in a tiny 300‑square‑foot roastery with a single La Marzocco and a lot of determination.

Today, we’re proud to be a neighbourhood staple in the Arts District, but our mission hasn’t changed. We source beans directly from small‑scale farmers in Ethiopia, Colombia, and Guatemala, paying well above fair‑trade prices. Every roast is developed in‑house to highlight each origin’s unique character — from the jasmine and bergamot of our Yirgacheffe to the deep chocolate and dried cherry of our seasonal dark roast.

But KofiCup isn’t just about the coffee. We’ve built a space where you can linger over a pour‑over, join a cupping workshop, or borrow a book from our community library. Our team of certified baristas treats every drink as a craft, and our plant‑forward pastry case is stocked daily by local bakers.

We’re also committed to sustainability: our cafe is zero‑waste, our takeaway cups are compostable, and we offer a discount for anyone who brings their own mug.

Whether you’re a coffee geek or just need a quiet place to sit, you’re welcome here. Come as you are, stay as long as you like — and let us brew something memorable for you.
